Stephanie Herbin – Accordian Book

For years, Peg Gignoux has been involved in developing useful and innovative methods for teaching and making textiles that rely on a collaborative process of ideation and design. Peg Gignoux offers art quilting residencies and book arts workshops suitable for a variety of populations. Working in makeshift studios, with expressive students making design sense for unusual sites has been enormously rewarding.

Peg's book arts workshops offering sculptural book forms such as secret rooms, spiral and accordion structures. Whether working on cloth or fabric, participants learn to see like illustrators, value words as writers and actively engage in developing a thoughtful and enduring narrative. Themes include friendship, memory, courage, discovery, identity, transformation, urban empowerment.
