Peg Gignoux has created a variety of textile works for public display in health care facilities around North Carolina. Gignoux, an inventive teacher and designer, she has facilitated projects that have artfully engaged the imaginations of Girls Scouts, at risk teens, hospitalized youth, and cancer survivors. Together they find community while creating art quilts for hospitals and clinics. Working closely with the goals of the host organization, Gignoux provides a curriculum of playful and accessible surface design activities that integrates color, form and symbol with poetry and prose. Themes have included, memory, courage, loss, bereavement, celebration, home and family.
